The Big Swim Together Creating Safe Waters and Strong Communities

Junior and Senior WiLDSquads

Bringing the Junior WiLDSquad and Senior WiLDSquad together for the first sea swim of the season creates a more balanced, social, and supportive group, because at its heart, long distance swimming is all about enjoying a safe, fun shared experience.

The older swimmers bring experience, calmness, and encouragement, while the teenagers add energy, fresh ideas, and plenty of hilarity. Mixing the generations breaks down age barriers, builds confidence across the whole group, and creates a stronger sense of community both in and out of the water.

What makes it even more special is the depth of experience quietly within the group. Among the swimmers are a Channel Soloist, several Channel relay swimmers, an Ice Miler, Jurassic Coast and Lake Zurich marathon swimmers, and even an Eddystone Lighthouse swimmer, alongside wonderful people who simply swim for the joy of it. Together, the group spans more than 50 years in age, united by a shared love of swimming long distance in the sea.
